What is blog? It's taken from the word "weblog". I think no one on earth can give a specific definition to it. However, you can do a lot of things with blog. You don't believe? You think blog is just an online open diary with full of text? Then, you're wrong.
Yes, blog can be a diary. Yet, it can also be anything. Take the unit meter(m) for example, it can be height, width, depth or length. Obviously they're different, and that's what I want to say. Let's say for another example - wheel. What do wheels do? Wheels are the most important component of vehicles and plane; and are very useful in transporting loads. Blog is a tool, a concept and even a style. Other than an open diary, blog can also be a novel, a photo album, a personal web page, a news or your thoughts. It's a totally free place for your to express your opinion on everything. There are no limitations and restrictions on what you're going to post.
It's very hard to tell someone why blog is fun. People don't get used to write essays; even so, people nowadays don't talk very much. They prefer to send instant messages to others. I agree that this method is quick, fast and convenient. But, a well-written essay is better than one thousand SMS. That's why receiving a hand-written letter from your friend is happier than getting pop up messages from your instant messenger. Therefore, I think that's the reason why I want to write blogs.
Out of Imagination
It's the best of time. Technology is booming at an unbelievable speed. Things can't be best, only can be better. With the blog, you can use your creativity to do something out of ordinary. As I said before, blog is not full of text; you can put media elements into it, such as sounds, images, motive pictures and videos. All these can make your blog better. Actually there are a lot of blog-service online, you just need to search it by search engines. For me, I accustomed to use blogger.com. It's mainly because it's a "product" of Google. Really, it doesn't matter which blog you use as their functions are similar.
I write this blog is because I want to share with you what other things can you do with blogs, and some of my tips of reading blogs. As I've mentioned previously, blog can be a diary, a novel, a photo album, a personal web page a news or your thoughts.
::Uses::I think it's the simplest form of blog. You can write anything about your life, even the most un-important details of you will do. For example, you can say that you've put too much toothpaste on your tooth brush this morning, and you think it's really a waste. Also, the cake this morning is awful, you don't believe it's a food for human beings. Then, you can tell your readers what are your difficulties in choosing the clothes today. Besides, you can share with us your opinion on the shape of the clouds. Why you hate that creamy cloud? Is it related to a mournful memory when you're still a child? You can write anything of you.

Do you think that you've the talent on writing novels? Then don't miss the chance! You can use blog to publish your very first "best-selling" novel! You can design your book's cover(Layout of your Blog), content(in the sidebox) and chapters(title of your blog). The most exciting feature is that there will be no editor will hurry you to give them the script. Furthermore, you can write it anytime and anywhere as you like. The only two requirements are the skill of word processing and inspiration.
- Novel
You may think it's mad to use blog as an album, but many bloggers are doing it. It's a fact that there are numerous web photo albums service providers online. However, do any of them allow the guests to leave comments on the photos? Do any of them have umlimited space? Can they upload the image by your mobile phone? Yes, using your mobile phone. Some of the mobile phones have cameras. After taking photos of some beautiful sceneries or interesting pictures, you would like to share them immediately with your families and friends. What can you do? It's wasting time to send to them one by one, and not all of them can view images on their mobile phones. Therefore, posting the photos on your blog would be a good solution. It saves a lot of troubles, and it allows your to write blogs at any place on the world. Isn't it fantastic?

It's your store room. You can share anything in your blog. If you love a movie very much, you can copy the description, trailer and images of it and post it to your blog. On the other hand, if you've heard a beautiful song, you can copy the lyrics and share it to your readers. If you discover a great web page, write down the link in your blog and let everyone knows. You may say it's like a mess, but by reading these unsorted information, you'll know more about that blogger.

What do you think of writing news in your blog? It makes your blog like a newspaper. People may doubt the reality of the news and the truth of it. But I have to tell you that the bloggers of famous news blog are allowed to go into the White House as a reporter. You can't imagine how far the development of blog have gone. Bloggers become news reporters, which is threat to traditional mass media. Can the newspapers update at once after the happening of one event? Can the news report on TV give you the most detail description of that event? Blog News has the advantage of updating speed, as well as telling the detail. Yet, it can't replace the mass media so quickly due to the habit of people. However, I don't know whether it will happen after one decade.

Blog is a great place for you to share your opinion with others. You may talk about the political issues, the complaints about the government, the development of technology, the taste of your life and the record of your life. Reading a blog like this is just like meet its blogger face to face. If the topic is the one that you concerned, you can leave your comment. Besides you can see what other people think of this topic. It's a kind of interaction with all people in the world.

::Tips::The number of blogs equals the number of water drops in the Pacific Ocean. How do you read your favorite blogs? Do you add them as IE bookmarks? Then, how do you know which one of them has updated? If there're one thousand blogs in your bookmark, are you going to check them one by one? It's a nightmare, isn't it? Now, by opening a account in Bloglines can solve all the problems. Once you logged in, add the feeds of your favorite blogs. It's just like the Email, once there are any updates of the blogs, it'll mark for you. As a result, you can see the newest posts of the blogs. Try it and you'll love it.

I know I don't have the qualification to discuss about blog, it's really a difficult hot topic. I just want to share my thoughts on blog, and a simple explanation to someone who has no ideas about what's blogging. There are so many things in blog; every day when I read blogs, I find out more and more exciting features about blog.
For me, blog is a magic. Does any of the features of blog is newly invented? Posting blog likes leaving a comment in the guestbook, saving the blogs likes uploading text files to a server, setting up a blog likes opening a new web page in Geocities, writing a blog likes writing a word document in Microsoft Word. What's new about blog? However when the above elements are put together, it'll become the most popular activity on web. It's unbelievable, isn't it?
I love reading books, and I want to practice my composition. On way for me is to write blogs. I can't think of any reasons that stop me from doing so. I love reading back the text that I wrote before, and think what I felt at that moment. I think I'll never stop blogging.
