Walking Like a Dog

How's your wonderful time after the HKCEE? What have you done? Or, how do you spend your time? I'm so glad to have my friends to call me out to have a "walk". Actually, I go hiking today.

At 9:30am, Anthony, Ho Wai and I meet together. Then we start our journey. Initially, we just want to find the location of a barbecue area at the upper part in the University of Hong Kong. It's quite hard for us to walk uphill at that time, because there is no shelter there where the sun shines directly upon our heads. After walking for about forty minutes, we arrive at our first destination. It's a nice place, with not many people going there. We find this place since we may have a barbecue there later in the month. It seems that our mission has been completed, yet it's just the very first part of our whole journey.

It's also my first to go to that area, so I want to go up a bit and admire the scenery. So, after resting for fifty minutes, we continue to walk uphill. We keep walking until we see the 晨運徑. By looking at the label there, we know that this road is totally 2800 meters long. You don't know how long it is unless you have walked it once. At that time, we have no idea of what's the end point of this road. However, we just want to explorer and find the answer by ourselves. On the way, we see a lot of people. It may because today's Sunday. We walk and walk. Ho Wai sees a McDonald's at the upper part of the hill, and so he wonders why there is such a fast food restaurant there. Suddenly, we see something amazing! It's something that you familiar with and you always see it on television. It is Peak Tower(凌霄閣)! No wonder why we can arrive at the Peak. It's so surprising, isn't it? To us, it's just like the discovery of a shopping mall on an isolated island! We are really shocked and happy about that. At there, we have our happy McDonald's meal. I really have to say that the food in this McDonald's is the most delicious, which is the best I've ever had.

Don't think that it's the end. We set off again towards the Peak Park. It is somewhere on the top of the mountain. It takes time for us to walk to there, about half an hour. You don't know how tired we are at that moment. However, the tiring journey appeals. The clouds today are very low, that is they are very close to the ground. On our way, the wind blows the clouds towards us, which makes us think that we have entered a magic world! It's incredible. You must try it on your own, although you don't feel much at all. It is wonderful to stand on the top of the mountain. It's very interesting that we make toilets as our check points. Every time we see a toilet, we wash our faces and hands and keep going.

It is not hot now, mainly because there are trees around us. In fact, we are still walking afterwards. We are not heading to the but stop, but to the Pok Fu Lam Reservoir(薄扶林水塘). There's not much to say about this pool, but it's another long way to go. We just stare at the pool, and we find there are fish there! Then, we finally go home. Modern transport system does not mean anything to us; we still walk by our legs. Then, after walk for about half an hour, I am at home. You know what time is it now? It's two o'clock in the afternoon. I'm exhausted.

Hiking is fun. I like it, but I won't do it again in the coming five days. It is so tiring. Last but no least, I decide to go back to the Mainland on the first of August. The Graduation Dinner for Form Five is on the thirtieth of the month. I hope it will be fun; otherwise the six-hundred-dollar entry ticket will be a waste.
