My Habit :: Collecting Books

Not many things can talk about yesterday. Due to this reason I don't write blog. One remarkable thing happened was the opening of the forum E-BBS, if you know what it is. It's my favorite forum which is full of useful "materials". I reply to the posts and post some by myself. If you look at the order, I'm in the top ten among a thousand members. It's true that the forum has such big number of members. It's quite popular actually.

As you may know that I love buying books. Although I don't have much money, whenever I have a surplus in my wallet, I use them to buy books. I'm not buying the books blindly, I'm only interested in some series and well-known titles.

1. One of the book series will be "Penguin Popular Classics" published by Penguin Books, which is a collection of famous novel or poems of great writers. It includes:
   Around the World in Eighty Days :: Pride and Prejudice :: Fairy Tales :: Jane Eyre :: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
   
   
2. For the Chinese books, I would choose "三聯文庫", published by 三聯書店. It has well-known Chinese writers, for example 魯迅, 余秋雨, 余光中 and 老舍. There are totally 82 books in this series, including:
   詩經選 :: 吶喊 :: 彷徨 :: 駱駝祥子 :: 白話論語
   
   
3. "名著名譯插圖本" published by 人民文學出版社 is another collection of books. It's in Simplified Chinese and the books in the series are carefully chosen. It includes writers from all around the world. You may not know most of them, such as:
   [蘇聯]尼.奧斯特洛斯基 :: [奧地利]卡夫卡 :: [吉爾吉斯斯坦]艾特瑪托夫
   Have you ever hear of them?
   
   
4. For the famous titles, I'm having a variety of choice.
   Harry Potter series :: The Lord of the Rings :: Da Vinci Code :: A Short History of Nearly Everything
   are all on my book shelf.
   

The price of the "Penguin Popular Classics", "三聯文庫" and "名著名譯插圖本" is relatively cheap, each book costs just about twenty to thirty dollars. However, for the famous titles they always worth near to one hundred dollars which is expensive for me.

Buying and reading books is fun. It's a habit which has the advantages of all other habits. Yet it doesn't have any negative impacts on you. All you need is just a clean book shelf with a low humidity. Then you just need to think what books you want to put on the shelf. Have a try on collecting books, you'll be addicted to it.
