Keep Your Data Safe

The schedule hasn't started yet, I then go to finish all my stuffs, including finding Mp3 on the net. I am glad to see that someone is sharing GiGi Leung's albums. I recently want to collect them back. I say to "get back" and that means that I have once had them. Due to the mechanical problem of my former harddisk, I lost all my data. As time is early, let me tell you how my harddisk was "broken".

It happened before the Christmas last year, which was quiet a long time ago. As you may know that I am keen in downloading things, for example songs, comics and games. These things are updating so fast that you need to check them everyday in order to get the latest information about them. In addition, a large capacity of the harddisk is needed. At that time(just as same now), I was using some "tools" to get "things". My harddisk seemed to be operating madly. Then, the whole screen stopped. I treated it as a normal accident of the system and so I restarted it. Yet, strange sound was coming out the computer case and it stopped at the BIOS screen. The sound was just like "Yee~Yee~" with very short time interval, shortly and frightening. I knew something serious was going to happen.

After restarting for several times, I at last logged into the computer. You may think that it is an end, however, it was just the beginning of the tragedy. Whenever I clicked into any folders or ever the "My Computer" icon on desktop, the mysterious sound was heard. At that moment, I knew my harddisk had some problems. It might be physically damaged that couldn't be solved by any software. I thought it was the problem with the rotating axis in the harddisk. "What am I going to do?" That was the first question I asked. Can you imagine how many precious things are there in the computer? Other than replace a new one, I couldn't think of any other solutions. There was still a hope, that was you could read the data somehow and so you could copy them to a new place. I had another 15GB harddisk and so I installed it. It was a nightmare to copy the data. You didn't know when the data will be successfully copied and when would it stop working. It sounded weird but you needed to compete with the harddisk against time.

At last, my father's IE favorites and photos had been recovered. Yet my comics and documents had all lost, really sad. Fortunately the old IBM harddisk can have a replacement and that was the things happened on 7th Feb, 2005 which I had written. I now love my harddisk very much and am hoping that the same thing will not happen again. I prevent it by using the 15GB harddisk for downloading and save something less important in it. Besides, speed disk is also very important. It helps the harddisk to move the axis less frequently and read the data more efficiently. All in all, my advise will be, Keep Your Data Safe.
